2012 OffbeatBest of the Beat Awards nominations: Camile Baudoin & the Living Rumors: Best Folk/Country Artist Old Bayou Blues: BEST FOLK/COUNTRY ALBUM Camile Baudoin: BEST GUITARIST Thank you, offBeat for naming "Old Bayou Blues" #14 in their TOP 40 LOUISIANA CDs of 2011!
You may know me as guitarist for The Radiators, the funky-bluesy-rocky band from New Orleans that, for 33 1/3 years, engaged in one long, relentless Fishhead tour, ending in spring 2011 with a blowout nationwide tour, a Big Easy Lifetime Achievement Award, and induction into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame.
My acoustic CD, Old Bayou Blues, features songs from my childhood along Bayou Lafourche as well as a handful of originals. I grew up in New Orleans, and every weekend we’d go to the country to visit relatives along Bayou Lafourche. My Paran Alton’s band, The Dufrene Brothers, played at clubs up and down the bayou, and on Sundays we’d gather to play music and sing in the living room. Thus, we call this Living Room Music, and the band is the Living Rumors. (don't believe everything you hear.) I get to work with great guitarist David Doucet of Beausoleil, Harry Hardin, who doubles as a classical violinist by day and funk-bluegrass fiddler by night, and the multi-talented and insightful Brian Seeger.

I'm also having a blast getting my funk on with friends like Sonny Landreth, Steve Conn, Ivan Neville, Curt Obeda and the Butanes, Tab Benoit, Anders Osborne, Paul Barrere from Little Feat, Johnny Sketch and the Dirty Notes, and with fellow Radiators Reggie Scanlan in The New Orleans Suspects and Frank Bua and Dave Malone (along with cousin "Papa" John Gros and JSDN bassist Dave Pomerleau) as Raw Oyster Cult.
